Just before Christmas, François Gosset, president of a company in Calvados, gives all his employees a gift: a new electric car.
“When I told them the news, some of the staff were still wondering where the trap was! But there is no trap! I feel like I’m doing something good, and I’m happy to cheer them up.” François Josset amusingly recounts how one of his ideas was conceived by his employees. The founder of Femaag, near Pont-l’Eveque, in Reux – a company that has been manufacturing equipment in the packaging machinery field since 2010 – made a gift to all its employees on December 17: the keys to the new car. One electric car per employee, that’s about ten Peugeot 208 mid-range cars. “I’ve been driving an electric car from a well-known American brand for six years now. For four or five years, I’ve been trying to find a way to encourage my team to drive more cleanly. The idea of giving everyone a company-paid car has made its way. A car to come to work, some of which extends over A distance of five kilometers, others up to fifty kilometers. But also for use for personal purposes. As long as they use it as much as possible.” François Josset explains.
A financial compensation of 30 euros per month
Cars that do not allow you to cross the whole of France, without going through the recharge box – offer an autonomy of 300 km, instead of 170 to 200 on the motorway -. Femaag currently has a terminal. Five more will soon emerge from Earth. Perfect for recharging your car during the day, when you are in the office or in the workshop. In turn, each employee is paid 30 euros per month. A symbolic participation that contributes to the costs of insurance, maintenance and electricity. A way to increase the purchasing power of employees. As a result, general salary increases have been frozen for a few years.. It goes without saying, but if the company leaves, the employee returns the keys and car to Femaag. “They find it normal.” François Josset commented to those who have an atmosphere of action “Very, very close to my (sic) heart. You need a sense of humor to work for us, it’s important to feel good at work. It’s not just the salary that matters to people.”

“Saving 70 euros per month”
Eric Demarais, Femaag Workshop Manager, appreciating his new car, “The driving is pleasant and not noisy, I can only hear the rustling of the tires.” His first electric car, diesel and petrol. “Specifically, one of these two cars is for the benefit of my son, who got his driver’s license a few months ago.”. Eric Demaris wasn’t surprised by his boss’s action. He loves to please his employees.. On purchase we have around 30,000 euros. You still have to be able to get them out.” The employee asserts, acknowledging that he cannot give himself this pleasure or this luxury. colleague , Lydia Hebert, an executive assistant, estimates the earnings at 70 euros per month. Earnings from leaving your car at home. “It’s also a good thing in terms of the environment. We’re in a period when we’re being asked to make an effort. The 208 electric is perfect!”

A company in full development
Much of the Apple legend rests in the early months, in a garage, with Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. François Josset, after working for twelve years as an engineer at Sidel Lisieux – specializing in the manufacture of packaging machines, this site should close its doors in 2023 – launches his company Alone in his garage In 2010 to develop the so-called “amazing systems”Optimal technology for storing bottles or water bottles. I started the business with a major client, Cristaline.. Since then, Femaag has grown a lot. get hired Fourteen people, compared to nine a year and a half ago, and an annual turnover of two million euros. “Since the beginning of 2022, we have made a number of appointments to strengthen the team and the ability to meet customer demand.” Customers located all over the world: North America, Asia, Africa, Europe… Another staff was due to arrive in 2023. That’s okay, because there’s still room in the Femaag parking lot… for the new electric 208?
