The animal of choice will be the Australian koala for the new electric car from the Chinese manufacturer Arcfox. A cute looking animal that should hold the kola family photo.
Yes, it’s the Arcfox Kaola, because in Chinese the name of the Australian marsupial is pronounced like this (考拉), not kOAla. Apart from some logos inside or outside the car, there is no mimicry between the car and the animal, and it exists mainly for its image of a friendly and gentle animal, but also for its protective aspect of its children with its pocket. We are very far from the brand’s previous models, the αS and αT, since the brand communications of the BAIC group revolve mainly around young children.
As for style, the design of the Arcfox Kaola could make it pass for a Volkswagen ID.3 station wagon or rather a pickup truck, to which we would have added a big smile on the front. But if its design is not of great importance, then its design is more original. The cola is already asymmetrical. It has two classic hinged doors on the driver’s side, and a hinged door and a sliding door on the passenger side. Automatic door with sensor that allows hands-free opening.
Kings in the back
The interior is designed around the rear seats and the well-being of its occupants. The manufacturer also does not convey the image of the dashboard. From the driver, we only know that, through the large screen, he will be able to monitor the rear-fixed children via cameras and, of course, take pictures to share the child’s smile live on social networks. But that’s not all, because the system is also able to determine the baby’s sleep and adjust the ventilation and brightness, as well as the sound. When the child falls asleep, the music is automatically switched to the speakers built into the front headrests. Conversely, if the baby is restless, soothing music can be played while also adjusting the light. The screen contains an avatar…a koala, of course. The driver can also manage child safety individually from the two rear doors.

In the rear seats there are two single seats with armrests. The car is presented here with a new child seat installed on a support that makes it swivel, to facilitate the installation of the child without twisting. With the additional swivel feature associated with opening and closing the sliding side door.
This seat can take different positions depending on the child’s activity, for example by reclining to allow him to fall asleep. It is also equipped with various sensors, including a temperature sensor. The latter makes it possible in particular to detect activity at the diaper level to alert mom or dad, and to adjust the operation of the air conditioner! In this case we can use the changing table that opens behind the sliding center console. The front compartment has a bottle compartment (for 4) heated or conversely cooled and connected.
For the right-hand seat passenger, there is a function relatively common in China: a heated and ventilated seat with an elongated position, here thanks to the front passenger seat that folds into a tablet, and is equipped with a padded lower part. Archfox specifies that the doors are equipped with curtains in order to preserve the privacy of the nursing mother…
In China, it is customary for an air conditioner to include filters that eliminate pollen, fine particles, or even some viruses. But in the field of health, which is currently considered sensitive in the country, Arcfox adds a system for eliminating viruses and germs using integrated UV lamps, which cover 99% of the surfaces accessible to passengers. One last specific point, the curtain airbag is specially designed for the baby with a larger lower back.
Finally, the box has multiple fittings to store everything necessary for the baby and his parents.
On the other hand, there is not a word about the technical side, be it electronics and driving aids, engine mechanics, battery, autonomy or performance …
