iPhone 15: What to Expect from Apple's Next Smartphone
The iPhone 15 is still several months away from its official release, but that hasn't stopped rumors and leaks from circulating about what we can expect from Apple's next smartphone. From a new variation of models to rising prices and potential design changes, here's a breakdown of everything we know (or think we know) about the iPhone 15.
A new variation of models
Also this year Apple should offer us 4 versions of the iPhone 15 but it may well be that there will be a change in the agreement. So we would find the big dichotomy of standard and ultra high-end models, with the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus and the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max unless the latter comes under a new name.
Apple is rumored to be proposing a new name for its most high-end model. Indeed, the latter could inherit the same nomenclature as the new connected watch model, the Apple Watch Ultra, and would thus become the iPhone 15 Ultra. By proceeding this way, the Cupertino company would take care of it and widens the gap between standard, premium, and ultra-premium models. A strategy already deployed last year since the iPhone 14 Pro Max benefited from a better photo module with greater magnification at the telephoto end and better stabilization for the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle sensor.
Rising prices
This desire to widen the gap would also be reflected in the price. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Ultra are rumored to benefit from a processor engraved in 3nm. A more expensive etching process would provide the main benefit to improve autonomy and that would be passed on in the price of the devices.
It is not yet known how much the top models would be increased. Other changes and improvements made may also increase the rating.
The iPhone 15, the first to benefit from a USB-C port?
Apple plans to comply with European Union requirements by replacing its Lightning port with the "universal" port chosen by the EU. The company has confirmed this but could start this revolution this year. So the innards of the iPhone, on both the standard and premium models, would be revised enough to add work to the engineers.
This change, which could be exclusive to models destined for the European market, could therefore affect their price. Unless Apple turns its nose to the EU and releases a completely portless smartphone.
Disappearing pimples
A project that would also involve the absence of buttons in order to have a 100% waterproof device. An aspect that could become reality this year.
Indeed, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo thinks that at least one version of the iPhone 15 would be devoid of physical buttons. They would be replaced by tactile spaces associated with haptic feedback.
Dynamic iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
The notch on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, revised and corrected last year, would make its first steps on this year's standard models.
It seems that Apple has managed to get this "pill" design of the notch accepted, thanks to the Dynamic Island software layer that exploits this new format particularly well, and therefore wants to deploy it across the range.
Finally, not much is known about the features of the phones, except that they will certainly be improved.
The iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra would thus benefit from a new generation processor, namely an A17 Bionic engraved in 3nm, while the 15 and 15 Plus models would deliver last year's version, the A16 Bionic. The photo part would also be improved, by means of a periscope photo sensor, especially again for premium models.
We will obviously have to wait until September to find out the official features of the iPhone 15. In the meantime, new leaks and rumors should still reach us.
Advanced Face ID System
The iPhone 15 is also rumored to have an advanced Face ID system, which will allow for better facial recognition even when wearing a mask. This is especially important in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and increased usage of masks in public spaces.
Larger Battery Capacity
Another feature that is expected to be included in the iPhone 15 is a larger battery capacity, which will provide longer battery life and reduce the need for frequent charging. This will be especially useful for users who are constantly on the go and need their devices to last throughout the day.
5G Capabilities
The iPhone 15 is also expected to have 5G capabilities, which will allow users to connect to faster and more reliable networks. With the growing popularity and availability of 5G networks, this feature will be especially useful for users who rely on their devices for work or entertainment.
Advanced Camera System
The iPhone 15 is also expected to have a more advanced camera system, which will include improved low-light performance and the ability to capture high-resolution photos and videos. The iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra models are expected to have a triple-lens camera system, which will include a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide-angle lens. This will provide users with more versatility and creative options when taking photos and videos.
Foldable Screen
One of the most talked-about features of the iPhone 15 is its foldable screen. This feature would allow the device to be folded in half, making it more compact and portable. While this feature is still in the development stage, it could potentially be included in the iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra models.
In conclusion, the iPhone 15 is shaping up to be a powerful and versatile device with a range of advanced features. From improved facial recognition and 5G capabilities to a more advanced camera system and foldable screen, the iPhone 15 has something to offer everyone. We'll have to wait until September to see what Apple has in store for us with this latest release.
