The 100% electric Renault Mégane E-Tech, which will not arrive in dealerships until spring, managed to take fourth place in the top electric sales in 2022. With 15,580 units, the French compact is at the gates of the podium behind the Tesla Model 3 and its 17,005 units, the Dacia Spring with 18,326 cars sold and in first place the Peugeot e-208 and its 19,222 units. The advantage of the diamond brand remains the diversity of the electric models it offers. For example, with 12,655 Twingo sold in 2022 and 12,182 Zoé, Renault is the brand that dominates the electric ranking in France. A total of 40,417 vehicles were distributed in France last year, well ahead of the second brand in the Top 10, Tesla, and the 28,897 combined sales of the Model 3 and Model Y pale in comparison.
The prices of Renault cars and their autonomy
Renault made a big effort by releasing the 100% electric Mégane E-Tech. Since the thermal version of the same name is still on sale, the cohabitation of the two versions was a risky bet, but according to the numbers, a successful bet. In 2022, 33,399 Renault Méganes were sold, all energies combined. 17,818 of these are thermal or hybrid. Sale that illustrates the model’s sure footing in France’s automotive life. The success is of course largely due to the resounding start to the career of the electric version. And it is not for nothing that it has something to seduce! Its two battery levels, the smallest of which is 40 kWh, are essential assets that set the price at € 39,000. Hardly more than its counterpart, the Renault Zoé R110 at € 35,100, which boasts greater autonomy with its 52 kWh battery. It nevertheless has a major flaw, its aging side that sets it apart from other models. This new Mégane is technologically up to date, the design is much more attractive than the Zoé and it offers more than convincing performance on the road, enough to attract many customers.

Electricity at Renault, a future offer, moreover
A compact choice for this Mégane, only 4.21 meters long while its thermal version was 4.36 meters. A decision that results in the arrival of the electric offer at Renault. The Mégane E-Tech is therefore between the Renault 5 (which will replace the current Twingo E-Tech and Zoé, which will not be renewed) and the electric Scénic. It also transforms from the single-seater to the SUV, a more fashionable style that offers a large interior volume. The diamond brand is not launching premium SUVs, preferring instead to move towards a more urban style, as evidenced by the 4ever Trophy concept. This 4.15 meter long model has many similarities with the first generation Captur. A kind of new electric R5. The final name has not yet been announced by the French group.
